Some of you have caught some big fish in South Park lakes, rivers, and streams and if not...come in and we can show you where to find them and check out the proof in our ever growing "Photo Gallery" with pictures from 2004.

Chaparral Park General Store is close to all great South Park bodies of water and rivers, come by and say hello and we will point you to some hot spots where the big ones live. We also have the tackle and gear that will help you catch them!

Lat spring ice off to early summer you have a great chance to catch a South Park fish anytime. Hint: Do not forget about the rivers and streams which can produce some big suprises eager to slurp up the eggs of spawning fish or river bugs. It's simple you just have to know where to find them and how to catch them. If you want to buy some tackle, learn some local South Park techniques on how to catch a big South Park fish, or just want to tell your fish story after a long day of fishing come into the CPGS store and we will be more than happy to give you all the details or lend you our ear. We also can help you purchase or rent some or all of the fishing tackle, flies, and gear you will need.

Many fishermen and fisherwomen have been stopping by CPGS to measure / weigh their big catch, e-mailing a pic of their fish, and / or coming by the CPGS store telling us of their catch and realease fish stories or the about one that got away. We also have some spots still available for reservation at our Campground. When catch & releasing your Spinney, "Dream Stream", 11mile, Antero, or Taryall trophy lunker fish 1) take your own digital picture, 2) send it via e-mail to pics@ChaparralParkGeneralStore.com, & 3) we will post your picture in our online "Photo Gallery". Also when you catch your take home trophy of 20" inches or longer at Spinney , Antero, 11 mile, or Taryall come to Chaparral Park General Store were we will measure, weigh, take your picture, & post it in our online "Photo Gallery" for bragging rights on the world wide web to show your friends & family that your fish story was really true.

Fishing Report: Fishing Great ~ Scuds, prince nymph, damsels, hares ears, tazmanian devils, HD trout, and rapalas. Come in to the Chaparral Park General Store before going to Spinney for some daily hot spots, tips, and to stock up on refreshments, food, fishing equipment, flies, and lures. Eleven Mile Canyon Reservoir is a Denver owned recreation area
Fishing Report: Fishing Great ~ Salmon eggs, worms, power bait, tazmanian devil, and needlefish best fishing is from early morning, late afternoon, and sunset to sunrise (night fishing). Come in to the CPGS store we have all the flies, lures, tackle, gear, and baits live, jarred, or frozen that you will need to catch all types of South Park fish!

Antero Reservoir:
Antero Reservoir is a Denver owned recreation area
Fishing Report: Fishing Great ~ Power baits, hares ears, tazmanian devils, and kastmasters. New Antero Regulations: beginning 01/10/2015 bag / possession limit for trout is eight (8) of any size. Always check Denver Water for any current regulations or new rule changes before fishing, boating, camping, or any activity at Antero Reservoir. Update: Antero will be closing for all acctivities 06/01/2015. Come in to the CPGS store we have all the flies, lures, tackle, gear, and baits live, jarred, or frozen that you will need!

BOATERS: CLOSED see the Denver Water Antero Reservoir web page for mre information. Also see Colorado Parks and Wildlife boating page for more information on what types of hand launched watercraft are allowed on Antero until the 06/01/2015 closure.

South Platte River "The Dream Stream":

2 mile section of Gold Medal river between Spinney Reservoir and Eleven Mile Canyopn Reservoir

Fishing Report: Fishing Great ~ Midges, emergers, and RS2s. Come into the CPGS store for the right South Park flies and lures to use and so we can point you in the right direction!

REMEMBER even the Kokanee Salmon caught in "The Dream Stream" MUST be released alive back into the water if you catch it in the river - ALL FISH MUST BE RETURNED TO THE WATER NO EXCEPTIONS!
Dream Stream And All Other Flies & Lure Waters Only Regulations can be reviewed on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife web site. Come on in or view our Online Store to get your specially tied Spinney, 11Mile, Dream Stream Flies.
