When catch & releasing your Spinney, "Dream Stream", 11mile, or Taryall trophy lunker fish 1) take your own digital picture, 2) send it via e-mail to Rob@ChaparralParkGeneralStore.com, & 3) we will post your picture in our online "Photo Gallery". Also when you catch your take home trophy of 20" inches or longer at Spinney (closed till spring 2008), Antero, 11 mile, or Taryall come to Chaparral Park General Store were we will measure, weigh, take your picture, & post it in our online "Photo Gallery" for bragging rights on the world wide web to show your friends & family that your fish story was really true.

Antero Reservoir:
Current Antero (Denver Owned) Water Levels
Closed to boats until further notice shoreline fishing is slow. Still lots of winter kill floaters seen all around the lake. Use discretion when targeting the stressed fish left that are stacked in the inlets and shorelines.

Spinney Reservoir:
Current Spinney (Aurora Owned) Water Levels
Fishing Report: Fishing is fantastic right now, many fish being caught from shore from the boat ramp to the dam. Boaters are also doing excellant and the Pike fishing is picking up in the weed beds and shallow areas. Many rainbow, brown and some cutthroats are being caught. Fly - copper johns, woolies, midges and eggs, Lure - Taz, tubes and Kastmasters for Pike - bunny streamers and Taz lures. All boats and float tubes are being inspected for Zebra Mussels before entering the park so please be patient .
NEW Spinney/ All Flies & Lure Waters Regulations can be reviewed on the Colorado Division Of Wildlife web site. No scented plastics or lures State Park Rangers will be proactively checking and artificial flies and lures ONLY.

South Platte River Above Spinney:
Current Water Flow
Fishing Report: Flows are about 60cfs with stained water.  Use smaller lures, Streamers, Chaparral Woolies, and Eggs. Come on in or view our Online Store to get your specially tied Spinney / Dream Stream Flies. Stop in the store to see where and how to fish these early season run-offs.

South Platte River "The Dream Stream":

2 mile section of river between Spinney & Eleven mile Reservoirs
Fishing Report: Large rainbows between 22 and 34 inches being caught, spawn is still going on, the hole at the bridge is a great place to find some of those beauties using copper johns, RoJo and Chironomids. Come on in or view our Online Store to get your specially tied Spinney / Dream Stream Flies. Stop in the store to see where and how to fish these early season run-offs.

Fishing Report:Still closed to boating due to ice still present on the reservoir and other reasons but ice off could be any day now. Most fish being caught on the south side at Howbert Point and Witchers Cove some on the north side at Coyote Ridge Fly = large woolies, crawdad imitators. Lure = Kastmaster, Flat Fish. Bait = worms, marshmallows, powerbait.
